I would say it went poorly. I have 3 FRC teams and none of them got into their second round event. So according to probability that seems to be an error. Since there are only 140 teams in the district, and assuming they all are not vying for the same event, It seems there is an error in the system.
Not sure if it happened before round 2 closed or not, but weâre off the waitlist for NYC! Waitlisted again for HVR though, hopefully we get in sooner than we did last yearâŚ
Not looking good for my team. I donât choose what events we go to but I do know we wanted Western NE. Either our mentor didnât choose in time or we didnât get in. Looking like probably a waitlist or a two hour drive week one for Southern Maine.
The loss of two MA events this year is definitely making the schedule hard for everyone, forcing teams to play back to back weekends or do overnight trips.
Looks like currently every event is at 31 teams except Southern Maine week 1 (28 teams), Pine Tree Maine week 3 (25 teams), and VT week 5 (17 teams). No surprise these are the open spots as theyâre the furthest event for most teams.
On waitlist for Wisconsin, didnât get into either Wisconsin or Seven Rivers, both of our local regionals. We canât attend the other nearby regional of Phantom Lakes due to spring break, so the waitlist game commences.
For round 2 we put in for an event that had space left and we requested to be waitlisted if need be, but instead we got put in our next choice after that (our home AZ north event)
Werenât even waitlisted.
Hoping that we can squeeze into a third event, we were trying to get a week 4 event while space in them was still open, then get our home event last, weâll see how it goes
We got incredibly lucky and got our first choice. I had only put down 3 as the others were travel events or had a wait-list already. Not sure what âorderâ we got in the draft as round 1 we stuck with our âhome eventâ
We also were able to get the events at the beginning and end of March with 2 full off weekends between.
Our home event is week 5, so that means if we make it to States, we will have 3 weekends in a row of competitions. Not ideal, but thatâs why we made our possible week 4âs our 5th and 6th choices.
Not great, but at least we donât have to travel very far.
I just hope that we will be able to get a 3rd regional
Not sure how many âreserveâ spots are left at any of the events that it would be feasible for us to go to
We got our (technically) 3rd choice, but I answered the poll as 1st choice, because the first two events we preferenced in round 2 were already at capacity from round 1, so we listed them on a âjust in case lightning strikesâ basis, then listed our highest preference non-full event as 3rd (and put that as our waitlist event, indicating it was our actual first âreasonableâ preference).
I know a lot of teams are disappointed in their schedule, but I think we did okay and are happy with our individual teamâs outcome.
Both my teams 6004 and 6242 got both of our event choices we were hoping for with Week 2 FNC Catawba County Event and Week 4 FNC Pitt County event. Leaving DCMP in week 6 as well as we plan to host a Week 0 scrimmage at our new workspace.
We requested Aerospace Valley as #1 and somehow(I know most likely its full) ended up in the Contra Costa regional. Weâre the only SoCal Team at the event so far.
