Our team is looking for something fun to do one what would have been bag night this year. Is anyone else celebrating this?
Typically to celebrate bag night in the past I just slept in the next day.
We’re celebrating it the same way we have in the past - team potluck dinner and show off the robot to everyone’s parents. We just won’t bag it at the end
What a good idea! I think I may try to set up a movie party or something for my students if I don’t steel a better idea that comes through this thread.
Maybe grab a few large plastic bags and go pick up some garbage? Either from the surrounding streets or from within your own shop, depending on how much they each need it.
We’re gonna celebrate by finishing the robot
We’re calling it “Picture Day” this year. It’s going to be largely the same as it has been in previous years; students’ parents will show up, we’ll show off the robot, and we’ll take some “official” pictures of the robot and film most of the reveal video. There will also be root beer floats and (for some reason) arm wrestling.
We’ll be celebrating by drinking carbonated soda with Disney Plus playing Mickey Mouse’s Club House theme on repeat., all while trying to get work done on our robot.
But in a sense of reality for most normal teams, to show to students that FIRST is more than just robots, I’d try to relax, and have fun. This might mean robot racing, watching a movie, or a team assembly that recognizes amazing designs and contributions. Have fun with it. But not too much fun lol.
abunch of people from my team go to ihop.
Y’all are lucky. Based on current progress, my team will blow by bag and tag. There goes software testing! sigh
I do like the idea of a team potluck, but we have some food budget issues. Honestly, I don’t know. sigh
Probably a ton of spike ball tournaments unless our bot is not finished cause we be on practice bot still no comp built
In-N-Out burger is our tradition.
robot racing! ROBOT RACING RROOBBOOTT RRACCINGGGGGG
My team used to go to WaffleHouse after the last build season meeting so some of us will probably still do that
