Extracurricular activiy at IRI - Klingon language seminar?

The TechnoKats know that I speak Klingon. Some of the rest of you might have noticed the qo’mey poSmoH Hol tagline at the end of my posts. I’d like to find out how much interest there would be in my hosting a small gathering near IRI, where I could discuss what the Klingon language is, how it came to be, who speaks it, where it’s going, and why I like it. I’d have some copies of things like The Klingon Hamlet and HolQeD, the journal of the Klingon Language Institute. It wouldn’t be anything formal, probably just a group of people sitting and chatting in the lobby of the Omni Friday night or something. People involved in FIRST and the ChiefDelphi forums seem to have a wide array of interests, and perhaps some would find the intersection of science fiction with linguistics to be worth sampling.

Is anyone curious? Let me know what you think.

thlIngan 'Hol… or at least I did until Enterprise killed the Klingon story arc is season two… lousy Berman and Braga…

But hey, anyone who finds me at a competition for a short conversation knows that I like my sci-fi. What you’re suggesting would be cool at just about any competition.

Keep flying (yay, semi-obscure modern sci-fi references!),
