Facebook Events for Competitions

2011 Competition Season is almost upon us! While everyone has been working on their robots, The Blue Alliance team has been working on the new The Blue Alliance “dot com”. We are beta testing the site (give it a spin!), and will soon be redirecting traffic to the “dot net” version of the site over. Please try the site out, and let us know if you find any problems.

One of the new features of the site is Facebook Events for each FIRST Competition. We think this will help folks going to competitions discuss and coordinate before the events actually happen. If you know what competitions you’re going to, RSVP below!

Facebook Events for the Regionals is a great idea!

Has anyone talked to FIRST about asking the regional directors to post a facebook link on their Regional websites ?

This would be a great way to increase team to team communication. I know Texas could definitely benefit from more team networking.

Website First Glance :
Clean simple interface and very easy to navigate. All the pages load very quickly but the handful of videos I tested did not seem to work well.

New Website Suggestions :

  1. Possibly add back the win-loss record on team pages …
  2. Can you add the awards statistics for each team ?
  3. A icon to indicate which matches have videos
  4. Search bar is not working (embedded google search would be ideal)
