Falcon 500 Replacing Bearing

Just a quick question here.

So my team recently went through the process of upgrading a bunch of our falcon 500 motors when on the last motor we realized we had somehow lost the end cap bearing in the process. We’ve looked for a little bit online and can’t seem to find both the specifications of the actual bearing and where to buy a replacement. We’re awaiting a response from VEX but in the meantime is this a part we can replace or do we just use this falcon as a spare? Thanks!

What do you mean by “upgrading”?

We replaced the inner shaft screws to T8 and the long case screws to stainless steel. I should have clarified that we upgraded our falcons to V2.

We ended up losing one of those bearings in the process of changing the falcon shaft to a cim shaft and picked up MR148ZZ bearings. You can find them on amazon, ebay, etc. Haven’t tested the motor extensively but all the dimensions seemed to line up and it spun smoothly again.

Hey thank you so much Michael! We will definitley check it out

OK,
When I hear about modifications to a non-modify item, I have to ask. Don’t use the motor without the bearing, it will likely damage the innards of the motor (rotor). VEX is good about supporting their products. I am sure they will respond.

My team also lost a couple of these bearings. I emailed Vex and was told:

These are actually available on McMaster (p/n 7804K116)

They are currently out of stock, but at least we have a part number.

Hmph. Maybe my oldness and grumpiness is showing:
“Next time pay attention and don’t lose them!”
