So, it is hot in Austin and the only thing that sounds really good at the moment is a snow cone. It made me wonder what some of the favorite flavors are.
At the stand where I go, they have a kazillion flavors and one is called Wedding Cake. It tastes like a rich vanilla and goes well mixed with the Coca Cola flavor.
What is yours?
Feel free to add a favorite snow cone memory as well.
The St. Louis Zoo snow cones rocked when I was a kid. Watching the seals ‘bark’ and play and eating my grape or lime snow cone was amazing.
All the snow cones at the Marion County Fair come from ice sold by Team 829. We are the exclusive vendor for all the ice sold at the fair. Come by when you are at IRI, have a cone and say hello.
And no, blue is not a color in this case. Blue is an actual flavor when it comes to snow cones, slushees, ice pops, etc.
As for snow cone memories, snow cones and related snow treats always remind me of my town’s little league baseball park. The field had great facilities. I would often work the concession stand or the scoreboard there when I wasn’t playing. That field and snow cones just seemed to mesh together. They had these ice cream hot dogs there, too. The bun is cake, the ketchup is chocolate syrup, and the hot dog is, of course, ice cream. Ahh, summer…
Snow cones are nice, especially with all this heat, it’s like 80 degrees!!! Although, I don’t like it when all of the flavorings go down to the bottom of the paper cup and drip, it stains shirts…
