Festival of Champions is at the SNHU Arena this year!

During Dean’s talk at NE CMP he announced that Festival of Champions will be hosted at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH.

Thoughts?

[strike]I’m assuming that the arena is the same venue they use for the field reveal at Kickoff (and until 2012, where they would do the entire Kickoff live).

If I’m right, and assuming they haven’t done anything too crazy since I went to Manchester in 2005, that is absolutely a solid choice. Plenty of space for the field with full AV support (see also: they used to telecast all of Kickoff from there), and I recall a second space used for registration that would be ample room for the 14 pit spaces needed for FRC and FTC.

If IRI tells you anything, the venue doesn’t have to be huge for it to be a big freakin’ deal. :)[/strike]

(Never mind, it’s an even better venue than the one I was thinking about.)

The SNHU Arena is actually where they used to hold the Granite State Regional event. It used to be called the Verizon Wireless Arena, but has since been renamed. Huge venue (as it used to hold a great regional!) and will be more than perfect to accommodate the Festival of Champions.

Plus it is literally a 5 minute walk from HQ!

Here’s a clip of the announcement from the DCMP stream.

New Englanders everywhere are rejoicing that we get an event back in the (formerly known as) Verizon. It’s a great venue that’s been missing from NE since districts happened.
