[FF]: 2011 Seaon Long Fantasy FIRST

It was scheduled for tongiht and it is not unusual to have the draft up this late, I would like to have it done tonight. Also I bet Ed has a list for Eric and himself.

We now have at least half of the players who are either present or have lists in. The draft was on the schedule for tonight for quite a while so there was plenty of time to get a list in to Ed who has forwarded me any he had.

Due to crashing and burning on takeoff several times the last drafts took a WHOLE LOT longer than anticipated but they are done. With that the draft season is completed. Keep a close eye on the regionals as teams come and go constantly right up to practice day. Remember if you are going to trade make sure they are even trades. Take care of all waiver requests in the Waiver Thread.
Congratualations on making it through the long process and good luck this upcoming season.
Enjoy kickoff and get to work!

FYI: just because drafting is done does not mean that event lists are static. The waiver thread will also be carrying a list of who is missing teams, including which and where. Folks that are missing teams in a tier get a big boost to their waiver status! OTOH, sometimes really good teams sign up late. Find them and let everyone know by announcing in the waiver thread, and we’ll see about getting them sent out.

Also, MSC is drafted sometime around Week 6, so after about Week 3 you might want to start figuring out who you might like.

Also congratulations to EricH, Vikesrock, Barry Bonzack and rtfgnow for perfect attendance.

I think that in light of what happened last night, any trades made in Dallas or Waterford should not go on the waiver wire.

For at least a week.

So now that we know the new definition of the Coopertition award, is it an engineering award or not? I vote yes

Each of the Seattle events dropped 23 teams, I think we should wait and see if teams get added back into the pool.

Whoa!
That’s a significant amount of teams!
I hope that’s just a website error.

Seattle was transitioning teams to even the events out.

I’ve suggested that instead of the normal waiver procedure, the following be used:

If someone has a team that switches Seattle events, they get first claim in the new event, if they want that team, with no waiver penalty. If a team on each of their Seattle alliances switches, they can simply switch which event they have the teams for–an inter-event trade with themselves–again with no waiver penalty. Any team not claimed this way goes to normal waiver and is subject to normal waiver rules.

This would also apply to any other double events that had a team switch.

Seattle has realigned. Everyone was affected–at least one team switched per person (and for most people, that’s one per event). So, here’s the plan on that:

If you had a “balanced” switch (i.e., 1 team switched from each event), you will simply get those teams in their new event. For example, Alex had 2 teams go from Olympic to Cascade, and 2 from Cascade to Olympic. Those teams will be traded between events. We’ll do that automatically. (Alex, Barry, dodar, Karibou, and Tim, this is you guys.)

If you did not have a “balanced” switch, you get to decide what to do. You can choose not to switch any teams over. You can choose to take all of the switched teams and drop a team you already have. You can choose to take fewer switched teams and go pot luck on waiver picks for missing teams. You make the decision. (If you weren’t on the list above, this is you.)

Ed and Chris kept their Olympic alliances intact; Basel did the same for his Cascade alliance. There were a couple of brand-new teams, and a bunch of teams in the pool that traded, but we’ll put those up after about a week to give folks time to make their decisions on current teams.

If you want to know which teams you have that switched, shoot Alex or myself a PM. We both have that data.

(I already posted this into the waiver thread.)

GAH! Do the powers that be in Seattle realize that they are upsetting the delicate balance that keep Fantasy FIRST intact? Have they no sense opf compassion for the amount of work the Fantasy FIRST moderators have to put in to fix the wrongs they have imposed upon us in the midst of build season? HAVE THEY NO SHAME?

GAH!

Hey, Ed, you got it easy. You only have to decide whether or not you want 3801 in Olympic, who you want to replace them with in Cascade, and if you do want them in Olympic, who you drop.

I gotta do the same thing for three separate teams.

I’ll be going through Olympic and Cascade later tonight to make the automatic trades and mark the swapped teams. I use underline on the official scoring sheet, so that’s what I’ll probably use.

Am I missing something or are the players this year so dumb that we weren’t picked up off of waivers the second we became available at boilermaker?

I would have but I have the most absurd alliance there already so I wouldn’t know who to drop :frowning:

OK Chris is off the hook, but the rest of you…:stuck_out_tongue:

Like Chris, I’ve got a pretty powerful alliance. I’m thinking I might have room, though…

I’ve put the sheet with everybody’s alliances up at http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2447.

Please review your alliances and make sure I’ve got them right; also, if you have missing teams, it would be a good idea to replace them before the event, as I tend to give out random teams once the drafts lock.
