[FF]: 2011 Seaon Long Fantasy FIRST

Attention all.

Week one events start in less than a week. You all need to head over to http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2447 and make sure your lists are correct. The lists lock at midnight the night before the event.

Eric, I think it is time to assign randoms in Toronto.

What do you mean by Toronto, Alex? Toronto’s Week 5, and only one person has a currently-missing team there. (Josh Fox, East 2, 3683)

Week 1 missing teams:
Tim Delles, New Jersey, 3123.

Standard policy if you’re missing teams: You choose a replacement. You can grab a team off the waiver list for that event, if you choose (but you go to the bottom of the waiver list), or any other available team. However, if you do not choose a replacement before the lists lock (the midnight before the event begins), then a random team will be assigned.

Oh, and while I’m on the topic of missing teams: Barry, Bethany, Josh, and Basel, you guys need to check your teams in Seattle! You all have an unbalanced number of teams switching events, so trades will not happen automatically! (Chris, this goes for you, too, but it’s more of a reminder that you have two empty spots in Cascade to fill.) I’m certain that someone who has an empty spot would be more than happy to take some of the swapped teams off your hands via waiver, should it come to that.

Uh, yeah I meant Seattle. I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep.

I’m going to send a PM to make sure that they know that they may be losing all their swapped teams to the waiver list–give it a week, and if at least one or two don’t show I’ll be shocked. Barry’s not going to let 2122 and 1425 go that easily, I’m sure, and I’m equally certain about Bethany and 1983 not parting if there’s a chance of not parting.

Hello there…

Week One events locked at midnight last night, with no issues in Week One.

Now, Week 2 has some missing teams.
[strike]Chris is me: Superior, 2175[/strike]
dodar: San Diego, 568; Israel, 3076
Basel A: Florida, 3589; Kansas City, 2359;
Josh Fox: Wisconsin, 279

If your name is on that list, any missing teams when the lists lock for Week 2 will be replaced with random teams.

Quick note: I have no clue what my Internet situation will be between Saturday and Friday morning next week. As such, scoring may be a little bit slow; as soon as I can get something up, I will. The current scoring sheet will be posted shortly.

For Cascade, I have no real preference what teams I get.

I’ve assigned randoms for you.

Just to make sure people have plenty of time, as I’ll be sans Internet for the next week or so, here are the Week 3 non-Seattle issues, all dropped teams:

Koko Ed: Peachtree, 3836; Detroit, 2673; West MI 2, 862
Barry Bonzack: West MI 2, 548
dodar: West MI 1, 862
[strike]Basel A: Chesapeake, 2890[/strike]
Bethany Mc: Chesapeake, 1708

Highest numbered rookie for my weeks 2 and 3 missing teams please

Taken care of.

Current issues:
Week 2
dodar: San Diego, 568; Israel, 3076
Josh Fox: Wisconsin, 279

Week 3
Koko Ed: Peachtree, 3836; Detroit, 2673; West MI 2, 862
Barry Bonzack: West MI 2, 548
dodar: West MI 1, 862
Bethany Mc: Chesapeake, 1708

I’ve decided that scoring the regionals manually takes way longer than I want to spend this competition season.

So I’ve decided to write a program to do it for me (or most of it at least, I’m not sure how to automate elim wins and losses and high score yet). What this means is that the regional score sheet for this week may not be up until tomorrow, but it should allow me to get regional score sheets up on Saturday night for every week from here on out.

If I get really adventurous I am going to try playing around with Excel macros to do the user scoring automatically as well, but that may be next weekend’s projects

Sweet, thanks for working on this, can’t wait to see some scores!

Impeccable timing. I’ve got the program working, but there is still some work to be done manually for each regional and I’m not sure I want to tackle it tonight.

I would expect team scoring to be up tomorrow morning. With Eric away, I’ll probably go ahead and do the individual scoring as well after I get the team scores up.

At W.MI 2 I have “67…1254…2075”](http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1000257&postcount=9)

But Kevin suggested Ed need to swap out 862. Can we automatically give him 2245 who is on Waiver?

Preliminary week 1 team scores are posted here:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2463

Kettering awards haven’t been posted yet and I am missing Woodie Flowers from Alamo and Dean’s List from FLR.

EDIT: Oops. My program apparently has issues with double digit wins and losses right now. Corrected sheet going up now.

I’m still waiting on Kettering awards before posting final Week 1 scores, but here are the current totals:

rtfgnow: 621
Basel A.: 560
Chris is Me: 556
EricH: 547
Vikesrock: 513
Barry Bonzack: 510
dodar: 478
Bethany Mc.: 440
Koko Ed: 387
Josh Fox: 366
Tim Delles: 360
Karibou: 347

Alex has a commanding lead, with consistent performances across the board. Basel isn’t too far off the pace powered by getting the entire Alamo winning alliance with Chris and Eric right on his tail.

The rest of us have some catchup to do, but it is only week 1.

This is great. Are you planning on putting names next to the owners? I suggest a column for each tier in a column before the team number, then using a SUMIF() formula to automatically calculate the scores. If you want me to do a page as an example let me know, but i’m a tad busy this week with the Florida Regional.

If Barry is within 200 points of you then he’s too close for comfort.

My initial idea was to modify Eric’s sheet so that the regional name was a merged cell and each team a player had was it’s own cell. Then I was going to do a lookup using the teams and event code into a sheet containing a master list of all the teams, events and total scores.

Your idea sounds interesting and may be a bit easier, I’ll look into it. I did the player scoring manually this week, looking to automate it will be something I work on either during the week or next weekend.

This is a much much better start than last year… ::devious grin::
