So crazy it could work? Thoughts?
I don’t think it would work for any event other than IRI. Almost anywhere else, teams would bid all their “money” on the top few teams. IRI is deep enough that teams would have a reason to grab from the middle tier instead of just the top. I’d definitely be up for it.
No way I’m doing this for any other event. The way I have it set up the draft woul,d take 6 hours. I’m not interested in doing six hour drafts every night in November and December.
I like it
Do it!
Do it!
There was no doubt I was doing it. I just wanted to know what you guys think and if you have any good ideas to steal.
So the basic premise would be every player gets $100 credit to pick three teams. Max bid allowed is $98 (you have to have at least $1 to submit a bid). When your turn is up you submit the team you want and the opening bid (from $1 to $98). For the next five minutes other members can apply bids for that team. If One member puts up $98 they win the bid (but they will only have $2 to play with for the rest of the draft). When the five minutes are up the highest bid wins the team. Real simple.
To make the draft exciting, the auction order doesn’t have to be disclosed at all.
hah?
Now that I think about it, it was kind of irrelevant, sorry.
Yeah. I don’t think hiding who is picking really matters. Now who gets to pick first or last doesn’t matter! The Randomizer is dead! All Hail the Randomizer!
If there were 72 teams @ IRI again this is what the draft would look like:
1…12pm…3:55…4pm
2…12:05…3:50…4:05
3…12:10…3:45…4:10
4…12:15…3:40…4:15
5…12:20…3:35…4:20
6…12:25…3:30…4:25
7…12:30…3:25…4:30
8…12:35…3:20…4:35
9…12:40…3:15…4:40
10…12:45…3:10…4:45
11…12:50…3:05…4:50
12…12:55…3pm…4:55
13…1pm…2:55…5pm
14…1:05…2:50…5:05
15…1:10…2:45…5:10
16…1:15…2:40…5:15
17…1:20…2:35…5:20
18…1:25…2:30…5:25
19…1:30…2:25…5:30
20…1:35…2:20…5:35
21…1:40…2:15…5:40
22…1:45…2:10…5:45
23…1:50…2:05…5:50
24…1:55…2pm…5:55
That draft would be fun.
Doing a couple of Fantasy Football Auction drafts were so much fun I wanted to try it with an off season draft. Six hour draft time is going to keep me from doing that for the regular season. I’ll further develope the rules for it.
By the way, you may be wondering can I I send in a draft list? Yes you can but it has to have your max bid dollar amount next to the team. If not I will apply an automatic $1 cost to your pick and all I can say is I seriously doubt 1114 is going to fall into your lap for a buck. Be mindful of the dollar amount or better yet be active in the draft.
The only problem I see with this is the 47 sec between posts rule on CD. Any last seconds grabs would be hard if you had already posted 47 seconds of sooner ago.
Otherwise it sounds like fun, I approve!
The 47 second post rule kills me during the last rounds of draft. I wish I could get CD to waive it in this thread. I’m not spamming anyone (except for people who don’t like Fantasy FIRST)](http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110147&highlight=fantasy+FIRST)
I think the league worked pretty well, I would definitely do it again if people are interested
What do you mean the randomizer is dead? I liked the randomizer. It chose us for first pick a lot.
