[FF]: Palmetto Regional Free-For-All FF

Alright, so I’ve traditionally run a Palmetto Regional league. (Heck, I even won one of them.)

However, classes and other things this semester have me slammed until Palmetto–there’s just no chance for me to administer a draft properly.

Therefore, I’m going to launch a Free-For-All FF. The rules are as follows:

  1. You select any three teams competing in the 2007 Palmetto Regional.
  2. Your set of three teams can not be the same three-team set someone else has picked. (For example, I can pick 1293, 1398, and 1618, and someone right after me could pick 1293, 1398, and 1959. However, only I can compete with the 1293/1398/1618 combination.)
  3. Limit one entry per person–and by one entry, I mean your first entry. Re-drafts are only allowed if a team drops the competition…but really, who’s going to do that a week before?
  4. There are no trades, no wild cards, nada. You pick your three and go.

Scoring is as follows:

20…1st seed
12…2nd and 3rd seed
6…4th through 8th
3…9th through 12th
2…12th through 16th

4…Quarter finalists
10…Semifinalists
20…Finalists
30…Winners

42…Chairmans
36…Engineering Inspiration Award

20…Rookie All-Star
10…Rooke Inspiration
8…Woodie Flowers
5…Regional Highest score
5…Highest score / Highest Rookie Seed

2…Qualification Match Win(s)
-2…Qualification Match Loss(es)
1…Qualification Match Tie(s)

2…for every non-placement award, except previously mentioned

(This is essentially Koko Ed’s scoring, except with the removal of the higher weight for technical awards and judges’ awards.)

With that, I’ll play the commissioner card and make my own selection:

Billfred 342 1251 1369
dhoizner 343 1251 1369

When you add your teams to the list, do me a favor and sort your name by the lowest team number, then the next-lowest, and so on. It’ll help when it comes time for later folks to make a pick.

The deadline is midnight EDT, March 28 2007.

I will give it a shot since I only have to pick 3 teams at once, heck I already know the teams I want. Let me know when I can pick Billfred. Thanks…

Dhoizner 343 1251 1369

Better pick quick–I imagine your choice of teams is probably going to go fast, if you’re thinking what we’re thinking!

I guess I can post the teams I would like…

1251, 1369, 2092

No can do–that three-team combination has already been chosen (by yours truly, at that). Pick again.

Realized it and changed it while you guys were posting.

Got an IM from Andrew Rudolph–he wants 1251/1369/1398.

To update:

Billfred: 342/1251/1369
Dhoizner: 343/1251/1369
Andrew Rudolph: 1251/1369/1398
Arefin Bari: 1251/1369/2092

Ante up!

It will be

587/1251/337

Such a prediction would have worked great in 2005, but neither 179 nor 180 is attending Palmetto this year. Pick again.

587/1251/337

Billfred: 342/1251/1369
Dhoizner: 343/1251/1369
Andrew Rudolph: 1251/1369/1398
Arefin Bari: 1251/1369/2092
Steve Graff: 587/1251/337
David Guzman: 343/845/1251

Matthew Koza: 845/1251/1369

386/1251/1369

I’ll take 343, 342, and 281.

342, 343, 1369

2237 1251 343

seems like 1251 is popular this year
yay for them

They pulled out a win against quite a few strong alliances at UCF, and Palmetto has long been kind to them (finalist in 2005, champion in 2006). I’m not surprised in the least.

The updated picks:

BenjyPoore: 281/342/343
