At the end of the match, how many people are allowed on the field for each team to retrieve their bot?
Only the drive team
And one member of the drive team needs to be taking away the Driver Station and getting the robot cart.
Only the drive team members can go get the bot. Traditionally, with the 4 person drive team, one person gets the driver station, one person gets the cart, and two people get the robot. With the whole rope situation it’s probably best to have three people on the field retrieving the robot. I don’t know if there was a maximum amount, but you do only have people who need to get the driver station, cart, and bot, and the first two are pretty much one-person jobs (usually).
The pilot can help so there is your 3rd or 4th person.
Thankfully, the drive team has one more member this year. I assume the PILOT is able to help grab the rope or assist with the robot.
EDIT - Sniped by Bill.
Those also need to be started immediately at the end of the match, even before the field goes green.
Just remember the update stating that the capacity of the airship is two persons. If you do not have a pilot on the airship in a given match, make sure that one of the pilots has stepped off before your pilot climbs up to release the rope. This will be especially critical for teams with fuelbots.
Also remember there may be a Field Staff member (the “other staff”) up there resetting all them gears! The Airship doesn’t reset itself, you know!
Two team members holding and lifting the robot, one grabbing the rope at the knot. (Can be done from the Field floor.) One field resetter demanding the Fuel from the robot (before it walks off the field). One Coach wondering why the robot went up weird.
Two should go get the bot. One get the robot cart and one get the controls. The third member is optional and probably not needed (robots probably won’t be too heavy this year). Leave the area as soon as possible as safely as possible.
Oh…I expect the reason for this thread is that someone figured out it’s a real pain to get their robot down off the rope, and then to retrieve their rope. We anticipate needing three people to recover our robot. At least.
You’re pretty funny, Mr. Patterson.
I guess 110 pounds without battery and bumpers is pretty light.
Light enough for two people to handle.
