Field Measurements

Hey guys,

I’ve read through the manual a couple of times. But, I cant seem to find specific measurements of the field. Like the length of the courtyard and neutral zone. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks

For detailed information you should consult the field drawings.

Check the field drawings. It’s a different document than the manual.

Here’s the page with the files.

I did check it, but I can’t seem to find it.

Follow the link in the post above you. Scroll down to “Playing Field Details”. Right-click link and save as. You’ll need to enter the manual password.

Page 3 of 2016FieldAssembly-enc has most of the major zone dimensions.

I’m having the same problem. Using the field drawings, I’ve been able to determine many of the dimensions (even if it required a whole ton of calculations to do it), but I still can’t locate some. I think that most of them can be resolved with a combination of the drawings and game manual. For example, the width of the neutral zone. I took the distance from the castle wall to the outer works and added that to the width of the outer works (which I got from some math and the field drawings), multiplied by two, and subtracted from total field length. This gave me 172.76in. This may be incorrect, but it seems right to me.

You can also download the CAD model of the field and use your CAD program to measure…

Where is the CAD model of the field located?

I have this same problem almost every year. I usually print out the drawing that Boltman posted. I use a calipers to measure one of the dimensioned features and then calculate the scale of the printout in inches per inch. For example if the width of the field is 319 inches per the drawing and its 7.1 inches on the printout then I know that every inch on the printout is equivalent to 44.9 inches in real life.

Low tech for sure but it works for me.

P.S. Why yes; I do have a 12 inch dial calipers.
