I made this post last week, so here it is again. 5 competitions, one weekend, 200 teams. Who will win? Who will they choose? Bonus question: how many alliances will call in their backups in elims?
Also, I’m looking to turn this into a weekly competition. But I don’t know how I should run it, if you would like to help/know what to do, send me a message.
I’ll make some predictions, if you don’t like them, I’m sorry. Prove me wrong. I may have also just missed a team.

For Alpena 3536 is the main contender having they have already played in two other competitions. I expect them to rank high and pick 862 or 2137. The other gets pick by the second alliance and first alliance wins finals

Lincoln, 67 ranks first and picks 5050 whom ever ranks second picks 3542. First alliance dukes it out and wins in three matches. Cling bling goes to 5050
Midland, 2619 is going to rank first and selects 2834, but 3414 and 3770 both astonishingly take the finals in three matches 2619 takes chairman’s for the gold silver cling bling
West Michigan, 2474 ranks number one and selects previous finalist 4003. This events fourth alliance of 85 and 3620 beat the first alliance and take the event, 4003 takes chairmen’s and 3620 gets engineering inspiration
Hot take, all different alliance numbers win the 5 events in FiM
At Jackson, there are three quite good second year teams with a shot at a blue banner.

7056, 7226, and I would like to add 7222 (although ours is definitely the worst one)
I don’t see that 7056 and 7226 were on the teams list, but I could be missing something

I’m lazy and have homework due at midnight so I’m just gonna predict the captains and first picks in the finals.
Alpena - 2137 + 5505 > 3536 + 4392
Jackson - 1023 + 3604 > 5205 + 302
Lincoln - 67 + 3542 > 5050 + 3656
Midland - 2834 + 6193 > 5712 + 2619
West Michigan - 2054 + 4003 > 3620 + 2474
I’m going to be shorter this time than I was last week.
Alpena:
5505 pairs up with 3536 to win this event. In the finals is some combination of 862, 2137, 3536, 4392, and 6077. Chairman’s favorites are 5505 and 862.
Jackson:
302 and 1023 pair up to win this event. 1481 and 5205 most likely pair up to take them on in the finals, but 3604, 4362, and 5907 could make it in there. Chairman’s favorites are 302 and 1023.
Lincoln: 67 pairs up with 5050 to win the event. 3542 and 4237 probably make it to the finals against them, but other teams that could be in there are 66, 314, 503, 573, 3656, and 5053. Chairman’s favorites are probably 5050, but 830 will be one of the main competitors to them for the award.
Midland:
2834 and a relatively young and unknown team pair up to win this event. The finalist alliance will have 2619 (they will definitely being playing in the finals on Saturday, as they have done so every year of the district) pair up with probably 5712, or maybe a young and relatively unknown team. Chairman’s favorites are 2619, having already won EI this year and winning Chairman’s at the event every year of Midland’s existence.
West Michigan:
Probably the best event of the week in Michigan, 3620 and 4003 will probably pair up to win. In the finals will be some combination of 75, 85, 107, 2054, 2474, and 5980. Chairman’s favorites are 85, 3620, and 4003. This is a hard event to cover because, like most West Michigan events, it is pretty deep and full of teams that have played well before but don’t have the banners behind them like many East Michigan teams.
Let’s see how I did.
Alpena:
I slept on 2075 hard. They paired up with 2137 to win the event. 862 and 3536 were finalists. 862 won Chairman’s and 6077 won EI.
Jackson:
1023 paired up with 5205 and made it to the finals but lost to 1481 and 4362. 302 was eliminated in the quarters and 3604 made it to the semis. 302 won Chairmans, 1481 won EI
Lincoln:
67 did pair up with 5050, but the two were upset in the quarters by the eighth alliance of 5853, 5530, and 7760 who ended up winning the event. 3656 made it to the finals, 66 made it to the semifinals, and the rest of the teams I had on my list were eliminated in the quarters. 5050 won Chairman’s and 66 won EI after winning Chairman’s earlier this year.
Midland:
2834 made it to the semifinals, 2619 was eliminated in the quarterfinals (the first time in team history that they didn’t make it to the finals at Midland), and 5712 was eliminated in the semifinals. 2619 didn’t win Chairman’s for the first time at Midland as 5216 won it and 5712 won EI.
West Michigan:
2054 ranked first and selected 3620, and the two teams made it to the finals. They lost to 2474 and 5927. 85, 107, and 4003 made it to Semis and 74 and 5980 were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Besides 107 and 4003, none of these teams were on the same alliance. 5567 won Chairman’s and 3620 won EI.
