FIRST announcements made in ATL

I was able to watch some of the awards ceremony via the NASA feed but did not hear any announcements for next season other than the homework. Where there any such announcements? new events, things to look for in the fall,…
thanks,

APS

Same homework as kickoff?

John Abele is stepping down as Chairman of the board as of now. I can’t remember who he is being replaced by though. Chairman’s Award team got their registration paid for, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden gave a speech. Autodesk is going to fly two representatives from the team that wasn’t able to attend to receive their award next year.

Is it just me or has FIRST grown quite a bit just in the past year? In terms of sponsors, sponsor involvement, and media coverage.

Many of the award winners were announced in this press release: http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/About_Us/Media_Center/Press_Releases_and_FIRST_News/2010/Post-CMP-Release_4-17.pdf

Walter P. Havenstein, CEO of SAIC, was announced to be the new Chairman of the Board replacing John Abele, who is stepping down after many years in that position. http://www.saic.com/about/leadership/havenstein-bio.html
