FIRST Choice Update

Greetings Teams:

The FIRST Choice team is currently working on identifying the root cause and a solution to the FIRST Choice website issue. Given the amount of testing that the team is doing, it will be at least one week until teams will be able to use their first round of credits to order parts from the website.

We will give teams advance notice of when FIRST Choice is ready for reopening. At the very least, teams will receive 24 hours’ notice prior to the reopening.

This by no means meant to be a shot at FIRST and AndyMark. I understand they are doing everything they can to make FIRST Choice work well for everyone. I appreciate the effort being put forth and unwillingness to allow this process to fail. This is just a suggestion.

I know Google has supported FIRST in the past, and I believe continues to do so. If Google can handle millions of users at once worldwide, maybe they can help FIRST in the future make FIRST Choice work well right out of the gate. If they don’t have the expertise to know how to do it, no one does.
