And apparently, suction is popular enough to inspire cheesecake.

It’s hard to tell, but this is a level three two robot climb from Kentwood this past weekend, probably the third or fourth time I saw them do it.

well lets not forget to mention 1678’s triple climb

Triple climb: Citrus has it in their bag. They can also win without it, even when the opponents have one and use it against them. See CVR F1 & F2. It seems that scoring more gamepieces in teleop is a pretty good way to win.

What I like about 2767’s sneak-aboard suction climb is its speed. With more practice they’ll be hitting it in just a few seconds, after scoring those last two balls.

Based on the title, I’m pretty sure this thread is just looking at Michigan double level 3 climbs

I can see how you’d think that.

Double level 3 climb at WEGL yesterday. 5885 and 2852. Both robots climbed separately. No assistance either way.

It’s pretty sweet when it works, it seems to be super dependent on the condition of the surface. In eliminations I saw them cleaning the l3 hab plastic after they had problems sticking to it. Those risers on the bottom actually don’t do any lifting, they just kind of fall down and lock, it looks like it’s only a safety to the robot from crashing if they lose suction

The issue with slipping was new issue to us in eliminations and will be dealt with for our district championship, should we make it. We were very consistent up to that point. We had the top hab climb score at the Durham College event and the 2nd highest hab climb score at this event. The risers on the bottom don’t simply ‘fall’, they are pneumatically actuated. The robot is actually very stable when sitting on them. It would take a fairly strong hit to knock us off the hab in that position. Believe me, there were many trials on the practice field before that match. After our update to the robot, “It’s pretty sweet, when it works” will be simply “It’s pretty sweet”.
