Greetings Teams:

FIRST is pleased to announce the launch of the new Senior Mentors project to help support and build the network of FIRST volunteers.

Serving on average 20-40 hours per week for a 12-month term, Senior Mentors are working to recruit and support FIRST Team Mentors and FIRST Event Volunteers. Senior Mentors will work with the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), the FIRST LEGO League (FLL), and other initiatives in the geographic area in which they reside.

For more information on this important new project, and a listing of the 15 new Senior Mentors, visit http://www.usfirst.org/about/sr_mentors.htm

Go Teams!

Congratulations and best of luck to all the Senior Mentors: Paul Ashley, Jenny Beatty, Devin Blizzard, Richard Bodor, Dan Coget, Stephen Cremer, Kelsey Frazier, Jean Hoppert, Chris Jones, Paul Kloberg, Rich Kressly, Bradley Lauer, Dawn Lutz, John Park, and Dee Tomczak. The initiative seems like it will be highly beneficial and from what I’ve already heard about the program from my former team mentor Rich Kressly (I know I’ve already said this to you, but congratulations! I know you’ll do an amazing job!), it should really be an excellent endeavor for encouraging, strengthening, recruiting, and maintaining volunteers. Thank you for all your efforts so far and for your efforts in the year to come!
