Greetings Teams:
Each year in association with the Kickoff in Manchester, FIRST hosts the Resources and Rookie Workshops for all interested teams. The goal of these workshops is to introduce teams to concepts that can help enrich their FIRST experience and build sustainable teams.
Rookie Workshop
We are proud to announce a couple of new features for the 2007 season. In cooperation with WPI, FIRST will webcast the Rookie Workshop. The webcast information and all workshop presentations will be available soon on the new training website, http://first.wpi.edu. Teams will be able to view a live broadcast as well as ask the presenters questions, real-time via the web. This website is still being developed and will be updated shortly.
The Rookie Workshop will run from 8 AM to 5 PM. The most up-to-date schedule can be found on our website at http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=418&menu_id=80 . We encourage first and second year teams as well as new mentors to participate. Students can also gain more understanding of the season awaiting them.
Resources Workshops
Secondly, the learning for FRC teams should never end. The Resources Workshops not only focus on more advanced information, but are designed to assist teams with their innovations and getting the most out of the Kit of Parts and the FIRST experience. These workshops will run from 9 AM to 4 PM and the list of current workshops being offered can also be found on our website at the above location.
These workshops will also be videotaped by WPI and made available to all teams for download from http://first.wpi.edu in the days following Kickoff.
Registration for both sets of workshops has been extended until January 3, 2007. You may register the maximum of four for these workshops by emailing your team number, total number attending, and which workshop (Rookie or Resources) to [email protected]. The workshops will take place on Friday, January 5th, 2007.
We hope as many teams as possible can benefit from the workshops in 2007 and future years!
Go Teams!
