FIRST EMAIL/Initial Event Registration Opens Today/Season Calendar/2012 Registration Pricing/Bag & Tag Events/MAR/Senior Mentor Call

Greetings Teams:

Note: As we are gearing up for the 2012 season, it is very important to read each email blast carefully as they cover important reminders, updates, news, etc. Email blasts are sent to each team’s Main and Alternate Contact and to mentors who opted into email blasts while registering in TIMS. It is very likely no one else on your team is receiving these messages. Please share this and future email blasts with your teams accordingly. Thank you!

Initial Event Registration Opens today, September 29th @ 12 noon EST: Register for your initial Competition Event in TIMS beginning 9/29 @ 12 noon EST: https://my.usfirst.org/frc/tims/site.lasso.

**Your team will be unable to register for an event until you complete the entire pre-registration process which includes updating and/or verifying all information in the Team Profile section of your Team Summary page in TIMS.

Go Teams!

Of course TIMS is down now!

Seems like it’s going in and out for people. I’m chatting with ~4 people trying to register right now and some are in TIMS while others can’t even get the FIRST site to load. Weird.

not down… most likley being abused, possibly even crashed… Oh well… everyone is pressing “f5” which is making it worse. … Im just sitting here patiently sipping a coffee until all the excitement wears off… This is like waiting in line for a cabbage patch kid back in 1981…

Don’t panic. The site is just slow, and “not responding” periodically.

Have patience.

I did manage to register for our first regional - looking forward to seeing everyone in San Diego once again!

FIRST always reaches the maximum connections during the first half hour to an hour after an opening.

There really isn’t that much of a rush for this initial registration except for a couple of oversubscribed events.

I just chatted with FIRST and they said that the site is up and IT is working on it. While on the phone I was able to register for GSR so at least a minute or two, there were spots available.

Trying to Help

1114 is registered for GTR East. Looking forward to an amazing regional in a brand new venue!

Yee-ha… 3481 got our ticket to Alamo Regional… come on down… you hear?!

Team 1519, Mechanical Mayhem, will be attending the Week 1 Granite State Regional again.

Registration stats for the Granite State Regional (which has a 40 team pre-registration capacity and is perennially oversubscribed) are below:

  • 12:20 EST: 16 teams are registered, 24 spots still available
  • 12:25 EST: 19 teams are registered, 21 spots still available
  • 12:30 EST: 22 teams are registered, 18 spots still available
  • 12:35 EST: 27 teams are registered, 13 spots still available
  • 12:40 EST: 30 teams are registered, 10 spots still available
  • 12:45 EST: 34 teams are registered, 6 spots still available
  • 12:50 EST: 39 teams are registered, 1 spot still available
  • 12:53 EST: 40 teams are registered, now waitlist only (looks like 157 was the last team to get in before the wait list!)

I should note that typically about 8 spots are held for rookies and waitlist teams. Generally only a few rookies attend GSR, so quite a few teams will be let in from the wait list. In 2010, we registered too late for the initial pre-registration, but did get entered into the tournament when the wait list was processed in December.

Contact Us page is down, too. Can you please post the FIRST phone number?

Some of us want to go to BAE

I just wanted to go to a baby shower, but that’s not happening now

P.S.
Congrats on getting into BAE

With 3 mentors trying FRC2168 is officially registered for NYC.
