**FIRST EMAIL**/NASA Grant Extension for Disaster Southern California Area FRC Teams

Greetings Teams -

As we are all aware, a significant portion of southern California has been devastated by fire. President Bush declared Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties major disaster areas. Our thoughts and support go out to all those that have been affected by this natural disaster.

To accommodate the extraordinary circumstances created by this situation, the application deadline for NASA grants is being extended for the teams from the affected area. The grant application deadline is being extended until 24:00 PST on Friday, November 2, 2007 for FRC teams within the declared disaster area. The extension applies ONLY to those teams within the declared disaster area. A complete list of the zipcodes/cities affected can be found here, http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=7350

NASA grant applications from all other teams are still due by the original deadline of midnight HST (Hawaiian Standard Time) tonight, October 31, 2007. We apologize for this late notice, and ask for your forbearance during the grant application and evaluation period.

Go Teams!
