I don’t know much about the other teams, so I think I’m just gonna take…
Team #42. Though I don’t know where they hail from, or what their sponsors are, they have to be good, just because they’re team 42. lol Stupid reason huh? I still call team 42.
Next up is BoyWithCape295, who’s off-line right now.
Just a quick recap of those teams which have currently been selected:
- 571 - UTC Otis Service Center/TrueBro/Coherent DEOS/Design Innovations & The Loomis Chaffee School & Windsor High School “Paragon”
- 33 - Diamler Chrysler & Notre Dame Prepatory “The Killer Bees”
- 42 - Daniel Webster College/Bronze Craft Corporation/Sci Tech/D’Ambra Technologies, Inc./BAE Systems & Alvirne High School
If you get the last pick of the first round then you get the first pick of the second around. The order of the second round is the frist round order reversed.

Chatter is part of the fun.
Let 'em rap.
Do people mind if I post my top 10? It may help people who don’t have an idea, and will serve as my pick, when we get down to #7.
Sure go ahead.
Go ahead, but remember, if people use your top 10, you may not get the team you hoped for.
Just a note, when it’s my turn to pick, can someone try to contact me, thanks

I’ll also be in tigerbolt
My top 10:
67 - Amazing robot that does everything, has played a tough schedule, and has the awards to go with #1
16 - How could I not pick a 2 time regional winner that was instrumental to my team winning Annapolis, see 67
1114 - 1 regional win, 2 time finalist, and in a division without any standout teams. Gets bumped way up because of the division
33 - Great ball robot, adding the hanging bumps them way up
222 - These guys just win (except in elimination finals, Buffalo Bills anyone?)
254 - Do everything, a little iffy on the hanging, and the competition they’ve faced, but you can’t go wrong with them. Great Strategy and drivers proved over the years
45 - See the match when they capped over 93
60 - See 254
237 - With so many great ball robots, the top team is going to need someone to keep people from hanging to make the difference
330 - See 237, bar blocking may not be as good (IMO), but keeping the big ball off is great. Also, faster to the bar.
My disclaimer, I’ve only seen 1 of these robots in person (330), and only 254 in webcast, so my picks are on a basis of what they’ve accomplished, and what I’ve heard. I’m also missing the best New England ball teams, because I haven’t heard much talk about them.
If I was picking for most wins in qualifying, neither 237 or 330 would be in my top 10, but I think they will help thier alliance go all the way through the elims, and rack up a bunch of wins that way.
I’d love so see why people make thier picks, similar to what I did.
I want to see Andy Grady, Andy Baker, and Karthik’s lists now, and JVN’s after he picks (since he may have a chance to get one of his top 10)
Just for the record, it was team 27 RUSH, who “capped” (without realeasing the ball), who had gotten the idea from team 67 when they capped 1241 at ypsilanti.
Alos, more importantly, can i email someone my top 40 or so picks, incase i am unavalible when it is my turn? thanks.
That’s not what he was talking about. He was talking about in the Semi’s at midwest when 45 capped the goal that 93 was trying to block.
So…this is going very slowly. Pickers 5, 6 and 7 are online but 4 is holding things up, any suggestions?
See this post from the other thread:
Eric, definetly, before you sign off, send your top few picks to Ed or post them, as I did. Hopefully, as the day progresses more people will send their picks in and the draft will go faster.
I sent them last night, I just wish everyone would have.
Hmmm… me wonders if Koko is just going to wait until Friday to really start this thing up? It’s not gonna be easy, here’s some fun math
Assuming you allow a time of 30 minutes per person, and half the people are CD addicts while the other half are no-shows it would take 24.5 hours per round, and 73.5 overall- just more than 3 days… I know that on Sunday I’ll be with my family gorging my belly with chocolate, itd be nice to be done by then. Maybe tonight and tomorrow night (after 4 PM for those who work and are at school) we could have a 30 minute per pick basis… so starting now until lets say, 11:00, then at 4 PM tomorrow to 11:00, everyone has 30 minutes to show up. Lemme know what y’all think
Just my two cents.
Joe,
I’m working on my list right now. Well to be specific, I’m working on a metric to rank all the teams at nationals, for 1114’s scouting database. It’s just pretty handy that it should suffice as my list. Of course there will be some fudging, because numbers aren’t perfect. (other than 6, 28, 496 … (2^(p-1))((2^p)-1), where (2^p)-1 is a Mersenne prime…)
I’ll try and upload the metric and the database as a whitepaper sometime tonight.
I choose team 254
I’ll have to go with Team 45, the Technokats.
I’ll take team 60!
Hot Bot, Team 67
A problem is that i’m on a school network where the internet turns off at 10:45 and doesn’t go on again till 6:30
I can pick pretty much whenever, I’m on Spring Break right now. The only problem is that I’m on the West Coast, so that could cause a little problem with morning picks cause I’m 3 hours behind the East coast.
