Kudos to FIRST Global on their public promotion of the event’s Opening Ceremony and the Competition in Athens. Great to see the stadium that hosted the Opening Ceremony for the modern Olympics in 1896 now celebrating robotics as a sport during the FIRST Global 2024 Opening Ceremony. It is also inspiring to see FIRST entering the area of ticketed events to bring more public attention to our work. It looks like the celebration will be live-streamed and archived for those not able to visit Athens in September.

FIRST Global is helping make FIRST global with a public-facing event next week in Athens. A national promotion campaign is introducing FIRST to Athens, with a little help from the Black Eyed Peas.

A great FIRST Global Opening Ceremony at the home of the 1896 Modern Olympics where the FIRST Rings shined in front of the Olympic Rings, followed by an awesome event that unite the world in Athens last week. Kudos to all the great volunteers, sponsors and teams who put a dent in the universe.
