I looked through and didn’t see any mention of this (but that doesn’t mean it’s not already here) so…
While looking through my DVR recording last night of the NASCAR race from Dover we noticed that the Fed Ex sponsored car of Denny Hamlin had a familiar looking logo on the rear fender.
My assumption is that Fed Ex added FIRST to the car as another gesture of support for the program. Regardless it’s great to see the FIRST logo presented to the public at an event where it’s not normally seen. Their team put the car on the pole for the race but unfortunately had other “issues” and bent it up during the event.
Pretty cool.
If you want to see the video of it being unveiled, here you go!
i didn’t catch that!
…well, he did wreck, maybe that’s why.
I noticed the logo on the NASCAR website before the race. I was really hoping Denny would win with FIRST on the car. But who knows, maybe it can be on more NASCAR cars in the future.
I heard that FIRST payed thousands for that logo.
Citation needed. All the organizations on that car are causes near and dear to FedEx (the standing sponsor of the 11 car at virtually every race), as part of a special FedEx Cares paint scheme.
With all due respect I don’t believe that’s the case.
As Billfred stated FedEx has been very supportive of causes and organizations they are involved with. Along with FIRST FedEx is a huge supporter of many other organizations which they showcase at various races throughout the season.
At no cost to those organizations.
If you notice Autism Speaks, Safe Kids Worldwide and March of Dimes are showcased on the car as well. I for one think this is a class gesture by FedEx, not just because of FIRST but for all the groups and causes they support.
