FIRST Logo Standards Clarification

We are currently working on our new website including incorperating the new FIRST logo into our site and had a couple questions regarding the logo standards.

We have every intention of sticking to the logo standards as FIRST has explained but wondered when we noticed that the Resource Center’s logo dosen’t seem to fit with the regulations ( http://www.usfirst.org/4vol/resourcectr/graphics/index.html ). Their corner logo is placed on a blue background, which i believe is against regulations, as well as it has a red stripe very close to the letters FIRST, which does not fit with the necessary room required around the logo. Another note is that it seems to be slightly under the minimum height of 17mm, although that is a negligible detail.

I didn’t want to start up another argument about who likes and dosen’t like the new logo, but I thought it was odd that they would create such strict guidelines specifying how their logo is to be used and yet their own website dosen’t seem to comply. It seems like they would want to meet the standards wherever they use the logo in order to support maintaining its specifications.

Did we miss something in the Logo Standards that would allow it to be used in these circumstances or is this a mistake on their website?
As we’ve said, we wish to pertain to the specifications as we have no intention of altering their logo, but we were curious about the rules on how it is to be used.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

I sent an e-mail off to FIRST and got a very quick response indicating that they are working to correct the spacing requirements problem.
