If you were wishing for water games…your wish came thru …almost! Wet field was fun to drive robots. Luckily no one damaged their electronics as far as I know. A big THANK YOU goes out to the team members who were vacuuming the carpet.
The field will definitely be wet tomorrow! As we were packing up, a storm dropped a few inches of water in about 10 minutes. The carpet is soaked, but robots and batteries are safe.
The FIRST exhibit is getting a lot more exposure than in previous years now that we are outside, but the weather is a major drawback.
Glad to hear everything’s going well (even if very moist)!
I just hope our robot doesn’t become soggy toast. That’s the worst kind. :ahh:
I’m organizing the teams going to the Cincy Mini-Maker Faire. I’m hoping we don’t get rain, but in October, you never know.
Glad everything went ok.
Maker Faire Detroit 2013 was great a success!
Moving the FIRST exhibit outside helped to attract more people to the exhibit, although we had to deal with the weather. Almost every person I talked to was amazed at the fact the the robots were built by kids in high school, and that we only had 6 weeks to built them!
Great job teams for promoting the mission of FIRST!
Be prepared, bring wet/dry vacuums.
Bring tarp and some 2x4 pieces to keep the robot off the ground.
