First non-teatherd Disney AudioAnimatronic

So you wanna see it?

Three thoughts, one is that it looks pretty lame. I mean really, a dinosaur pulling a cart of flowers. Second, it isn’t totally autonomous yet, it has someone who walks with it and controls some aspects of it. Third is that it dosn’t walk by itself, the cart is it’s propulsion.

Is this thing real?

Andrew, dinosaurs lived on this planet many years ago. Unfortunately, they are extinct. There are many theories on how they became extinct, but I will not go into that now.

This dinosaur is not real. It is make-believe.

Just kiddin’,

HAHAHA yeah what i meant is that is it a real robot.

Here is a better article on Lucky.

I think it looks pretty cool. Yeah, it still needs operators, but still - it’s the first step to something really big. Just think about what Disney will be able to do ten or 20 years from now after perfecting this technology.

Far more impressive, even, than WDI’s autonomous animatronic animals are ITEC Entertainment’s Aquamatronics.

They’ve been around for over a year now and have seen very, very little press.

Lucky is, as far as I know, based on the series of novels based on Dinotopia and ties in to ABC’s mini-series and its television show. Lucky has been in development for quite some time, but was put on the back burner when neither the mini-series nor the series were as popular as Disney was hoping they’d be. The only reason we’re seeing it now is because it was so far along in its development and the California Adventure park needs help.

Well, I guess its okay, but I agree that the whole flower cart thing is kind of… er… well… not as good as it could be.

Its great that they’re starting to do this type of thing though. I hope that they can build on it, but it does need a lot of work.
