Destination Deep Space is sure to bring another year of incredible designs and imagination. FUN will be on location with FRC225 and FRC2590 as they represent Ri3D as Team FIRST Capital. Robot in 3 Days has many interpretations but FIRST Capital wants your input on what type of strategies, components and even on the robots name! You’ll also see components from sponsors VEXpro, REV Robotics, and AndyMark used on this robot and you’ll have an opportunity to vote in chat for what you want to see.

Now put legal bumpers on the back and test that again. I’d bet you bottom out with that setup (we did with a similar setup). :expressionless:

Could we have some details about the climbing mechanism? Such as which pneumatic cylinders, placement, etc?

1.25” bore, 7” stroke for 2 back and 8” stroke for front. Back are positioned at the corner of the back frame rails, front is just behind the front wheel to one side.

anyone else cringe when that front pneumatic cylinder rod hit the step in the climbing video?

Yea… good for Ri3D, and definitely would need some improvements to survive 100 matches. Connect the cylinder to some igus bushings and a KOP igus rod, and problem’s solved.

But it’s still comforting that brute-forcing level 2 is a plausible option. it may even be cheesecake worthy.
