FIRST Publishes 2006 Annual Report

FIRST has published their 2006 Annual Report, available at: http://www.usfirst.org/about/2006/annualreport2006.pdf

An interesting read, especially for between classes.

I’ve been noticing lately that FIRST is using an FRC-specific logo (like FLL’s and FVC’s, as opposed to the generic FIRST logo) in some places (the 2006 Championship intro on usfirst.org was the first time I’d seen it), and now it’s in their annual report (page 5 of the PDF, page 3 if you follow page numbers). This makes perfect sense to me (and helps underscore that there is far more to FIRST than FRC), but is this logo ever going to be released for use like the others?

It will be available for download in electronic and print format in the FRC communications resource section on the newly designed website. Don’t know the exact release date for website, but should be pretty soon.
Hope this helps.

I didn’t know that FIRST published annual reports like this. That was pretty interesting to read. It talks a lot about how FIRST is doing on accomplishing their mission. Plus, it was neat to look for people and robots I knew in the photos. I ID’d 4 people in photos, can anyone top me?

The 2003, 2004, and 2005 Annual Reports are still on their website. I’m not sure if they will be archived on the new website when it debuts. If you go to
http://www.usfirst.org/about/2006/annualreport2006.pdf and just change the year in both places in the URL you can call up the last three years’ worth of reports. The financial statement is also available at: http://www.usfirst.org/about/2006/Final_FIRST_06%20FS_092806.pdf

Exciting news! Very glad I read this…

Looks like its time to dust off that whitepaper and update it…

Haha, I can see three people I know in those pictures in the report. Cool.

Very cool…Thanks!

It’s nice to see the BX Ryders featured in several of the shots, but more importantly I want to congratulate Gary Israel on his personal profile on the 5th page. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Gary over the past 4 years and am still in great awe. He is truely a FIRST champion and his enthusiasm is contagious. If one person can be credited with spreading robotics through the Bronx it is him. If students will benefit from it, I’ve never known him to say no. Congratulations Gary.

Sweet, I’m in it twice.
Being in the front row at Einstein helps a lot for that. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m in it too…but in the wrong area. Our FRC drive team got on the FVC page…
haha
