Kettering University’s FIRST Robotics Community Center is now open to FRC teams (one team per time slot, no more than 10 team members may attend). Teams will have access to the FIRST Center playing field for practice and/or to play their Infinite Recharge Home Skills. The playing field is set up for the Infinite Recharge Home Skills.
The schedule offers time slots February 27th – April 6th on
Tuesdays 4-6 pm and 6-8 pm
Thursdays 4-6 pm and 6-8 pm
Saturdays 9-11 am, 11 am-1 pm, and 1-3 pm
(one team per time slot)
If demand increases, we will expand our schedule accordingly.
Teams must adhere to Kettering COVID-19 protocols currently in place and are expected to respectfully cooperate by adhering to the following expectations as well.
One visiting team per time slot and no more than 10 team members may attend.
Each team member will enter the FIRST Center entrance and be screened by completing the screening form used by Kettering University for staff and students and have their temperature taken.
Masks are required to be worn and cover the nose and mouth for the entirety of the time slot. One may be provided if needed.
Once screened, the team member will then enter the Robospace meeting room and be seated 6’ apart from any other individual.
A short presentation will be given about Kettering University by either Kim Shumaker or an Admission’s representative.
The team of no more than 10 individuals will then be escorted to the FIRST Center where they will remain (unless a restroom is needed and only one individual may go to the restroom at a time).
At the conclusion of the time slot, the team will exit through the far northwest door of the FIRST Center and will not cross back into the hallway to prevent contact with the next team scheduled and to allow for cleaning protocols to begin.
Teams must stay within the FIRST Center confines and are restricted from entering the university hallways, rooms or other buildings.
Cleaning between Teams
After a team leaves the FIRST Center, FIRST Center staff will clean the field, game pieces, and team tables.
While the FIRST Center is being cleaned, the next team will be at the FIRST Center entrance being screened and then participating in the presentation in the Robospace.
After a team moves to the FIRST Center, FIRST Center staff will clean the Robospace meeting room tables.
Teams will not enter the Robospace nor the FIRST Center until it has been cleaned.
Teams will not cross paths inside the building.
Teams will not occupy the Robospace or FIRST Center at the same time.
Extra Masks and hand sanitizer will be available in both the Robospace and in several areas within the FIRST Center.
