Texas kicks off the season with two Week 1 events.
All First in Texas (FiT) 2022 events
2022 Dripping Springs (32 teams)
Both events are in the central Texas region (only about 2 hour drive apart)
Waco has a lot of great teams like 148, 624, 1477, 2468, 2714, 2881, 3005, 3310, 5417 & 6377.
Dripping Springs has 1296, 1745, 2582, 3847, 4063 & 6800
The schedules for all FiT events are easy to find on the First in Texas website
That wacko event is pretty whacko (or whacky). Gonna see a high level of play. 5431 also brings good robots, 2468 will have their two extra teams there, and 3802 had an impressive shooter in 2020 if I recall correctly. 7121 was ranked 5th and 10th in their 2019 events - hoping they keep that momentum going.

Channelview 2022 (southeast Houston) is the only event happening for FiT this weekend
2966 competed at Dripping Springs last week. This will be the 1st event for all other teams

Austin 2022 (hosted at Valor 6800):
This event is mostly Central Texas teams with no big name Houston/Dallas teams.
2158, 2583, 5052 & 5986 should have a successful debut
2881, 5572, 6377 & 6800 will be on their second event.
The Westlake-trio continues with 2468, 2687, 2689 all on the same schedule
Fort Worth 2022 (hosted at Robo Vikes 4206)
4206 had a great showing in Florida and looks to continue in Districts
1296, 1745, 2582, 3005, 4192, 5892 & 8055 should finish strong in their second event
4153, 5411, 6369 & 6672 should have a successful debut
On a sidenote:
Week 1 Waco Awards are still not posted so district rankings are not accurate yet.
Ft. Worth has been crazy. Lots of teams that this is their first event ever but were true rookies in '19. The sad part is they aren’t eligible for any of the rookie awards even though Covid shut us down before they got to run.
