Flashing Fast Yellow Light on Grey Jag

We have a grey Jaguar which is flashing fast yellow. There is no information given about it as a condition in the manual. Does anyone have the same problem, a way to fix it, a way to set the jaguar’s firmware to factory condition? Or is it a hardware problem?

What steps have you taken to solve this problem?

It was a firmware problem.

If there is a program running check to make sure there isn’t an output error. Else, check the battery. Good luck.

Usually when this happens to us, it is a conflict with 2 Jaguars having the same ID on the network. I assume you are using CAN?

Fast flash yellow, like others have discovered, indicates that the Jag is in a “no ID” state. The Jaguar can have no ID when you try to assign and ID number that already exists on the bus. See the following example:

You start with IDs 11 and 12 on the bus and you add another new Jaguar. Now you have IDs 1, 11, and 12. You then want to assign a new ID to the new Jag, but accidentally try and assign 12 again. All the Jags go into the “I see you want to assign 12, should I take it?” mode, except for the Jag who’s ID is already 12. This Jag sees the assign request and says “Oh no, there is about to be another 12 on the bus, I’m 12 too! I better forget my ID so there isn’t a conflict.” This Jag now forgets its ID.

A simple reset to factory defaults (power on the Jag with the user button depressed) will reset the no-ID Jag to ID 1, and you can then reassign a unique ID.

I understand the frustration on the sometimes patchy documentation. I just want to let you all know that we are listening, and are adding better documentation as quick as we can.
