Hi,
I have problem…
The RSL LED only standing!!
cRIO TTL Digital is in slot 2 (cRIO images-“FRC_2013_v47”),
Sidecar is reagent to my commands in c++ (like: driver, digital input, relay and other),
I change twice cRIO TTL Digital and cable between sidecar to cRIO TTL Digital.
So what can i do more?
First, look at the Sidecar when the robot is turned on. Next to the RSL port is a small LED. What is that LED doing? It should flash in the pattern you expect the RSL to flash when the robot is disabled/enabled.
If the LED on the Sidecar is working correctly, then you know the cRio and DSC are working fine. Check and double check the wiring for the RSL - trace the wires all the way from the Sidecar to the RSL and make sure nothing has happened to it. Make sure you have a jumper correctly installed between La and Lb on the RSL. Try swapping out the RSL if none of the above worked.
If the LED on the Sidecar is not working correctly, there are a couple of things to try. First, if the LED just isn’t coming on, try unplugging the RSL and see if that fixes it… a short in the RSL wiring or a bad RSL could cause this. If that doesn’t fix it, replace the Sidecar.
Finally, take some pictures! Let us see how things are hooked up and we might see the issue. Figuring some of this out is insanely difficult without being able to see the setup.
Try it without the RSL plugged into the Sidecar. In fact, try it with nothing plugged into the sidecar except for power and the cRio.
Are all 3 LED’s (5V, 6V, BAT) brightly lit on the Sidecar?
Try replacing the sidecar.
If all of that fails… I don’t know what advice to give you. I had a team at one of my regionals have an issue getting a battery readout on the driver station. They replaced all the hardware involved, tried it with multiple combinations of old and new hardware, and nothing worked. When we took the analog module+breakout to another robot and plugged it in there, it worked instantly. We never could figure out why it wouldn’t give us a readout, but we ended up just having them play as they were. In the absolute worst case, having that light not working properly doesn’t stop the rest of your robot from working, and since we’re out of the competition season you won’t have a Robot Inspector telling you to fix it before competing. Just make sure you take some extra safety precautions so everyone in the area knows the robot is running when you turn it on/enable it!
All 3 LEDS are on…
and i try it with nothing plugged into the sidecar except for power and the crio…
I will try to connect the sidecar to the old system in to the robot from last year and will see what happens ,maybe its true and my sidecar not working with RSL.
Thanks for all.
Hello friend I am facing similar problem, were you able to sort it out? I have changed the cable between sidecar to cRIO TTL Digital once but not able to solve it…Please help
