FLL Challenge opt-out of SPIKE PRIME

Hey y’all! Quick question, when teams are registering for the 22-23 season, will they be able to opt out of the soon-to-be $450 spike prime kit?

My FRC team wants to buy the base spike prime kits for certain rookie FLL teams going into the next season, but getting them the expansion set doesn’t sit in our budget, so we were wondering if the teams would be able to opt-out of the spike prime kit when registering and instead buy the expansion set separately.

If anyone knows anything please let me know, thank you!

If you’re purchasing the SPIKE in the Dashboard, FIRST only offers the base+expansion combo. It isn’t required to buy a SPIKE system in the dashboard for any team, but if you do, that’s the only version sold.
