Florida Regional 2007

Some of us don’t live in Florida. Some of us are getting our toes frozen off in Michigan. :stuck_out_tongue:

I cant wait for this regional to start! Only 9 hours till gates open, ill try to sleep, but i probably wont. Then again, Sleep Depravation and FIRST go hand in hand.

7:00 am and it’s a beautiful day out so far team 1251 is ready to rack and roll. Can’t wait to see everyone at the Florida regional, it should be a good one.

Good luck,
Drew Dizzle !

wow, i just watched 233, and I am very impressed with their robot (not like I wasn’t before). They are putting up 6-8 tubes around teh whole rack (top, middle, bottom rows).

Also, the team with the spine arm…that thing looks AWESOME, I cant wait to see it actually function.

I’m impressed that you’re able to see anything. This is the tiniest webcast I’ve ever run across and I can’t make out anything of note.

http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/first/ucf-regional-2007/

there is a link next to the small feed and you can open it in WMP or realplayer and get a bigger size.

At least it’s right side up, I got the reflector I think and have audio and an upside down picture! Oh well, it’s only practice day :).

The announcers need to learn what things are called. The foot?

Are the match starting times posted anywhere online?

A good question. I haven’t found them yet…but if you do, please post a link or something!

I’m a little saddened by the webcast. Right when 245 came on the field it blurred horribly. At least the sound’s good : ) I’m using WMP. Can’t really read the info at the bottom consistently either. Hope it’s better tomorrow!

Good luck Florida teams! I’ve seen some of you playing the practices, I’ve seen very interesting tactics. Autonomous was nice in some cases(which usually the rest where doing nothing). I already found a fav’ bot, the one with the 180 arm that can do 90 degree pinch twist with an autonomous times that setes their arm towards the human player, can’t remember the team number.:o

I’ll be watching you guys in the seeding and tournament.

Oh, and the quality is much better than the VCU one’s, thanks allot for the comfertness!
Good luck!

One more thing, how do they show online? I was hoping there could be a way we could try to show our regionals too.

Hi Everyone,

Watching the practices. Question, the site (http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/first/ucf-regional-2007/) references RealPlayer but I can’t find any sign of a Real based stream is there one or is there just the Windows Media? Perhaps there will be a real stream tomorrow?

Thanks…Good luck to all the New England teams representing down in sunny Florida!!!,

Justin

i just saw a human player score a ringer on the opposide side of the rack. anybody get that on video?
it was team 108, 408, 1543 vs 157,1027, 2152

I was there, team 108’s human player scored that,

btw, my $0.02
The competition in florida is WEAK, with the exception to 56,179,233,79 and 1902

othing else really impressed me besides 1889’s defensive tactics, i say forget taht arm and play defense like that every match, and you might find yourselfs in the elimination rounds

Dude…its practice day, half the robots werent on the field, I wouldn’t be too quick to judge how this competition is gonna go

I tuned into the webcast at around 3:30, and caught the last hour and a half of it. I did get to see teams 179, 79, and 1902 play, but I was also impressed by team 1065. In both rounds of their last practice match, the two robots on their alliance (1902 and 386 if I recall correctly) were able to climb their ramps. Team 386 was also able to score in autonomous during the last practice match.

Anybody know where I can get archives of the video BEFORE the regional ends?

Good luck tomorrow everyone! I’ll be watching the webcast once I’m out of class…so be awesome!

LOL Use the SOAP!

Hey I’m from the team with the spine arm. Tonight during inspection the tip of our arm snapped.:ahh: We have two extra rods so it isn’t that big of a deal but now or mechanical guys are going to be focused on that all morning and i was just curious if any teams could lend us a hand so we can get the manipulator that goes on the arm working. I understand that everyones going to be very busy tomorrow morning but if you have anyone you can spare for the morning we would greatly appreciate it. Oh and another update about our robot or programmer finished the drivercentric program tonight so hopefully it works tomorrow.
