Should we as a team build the robot be able to do good defense along with offense or only focus on our hub zone.

I would say your robot should be sturdy enough to play defense even if you aren’t going to.

I don’t think you should have to build a robot for defense.

I think a robot that can climb to level 3 and play defense really well will be very competitive in playoffs, maybe even quals.
There are probably going to be a lot of rookie teams with robots that can do hatches and defense, so if you have a feasible climber, it makes you all the more valuable. If you have a simple hatch mechanism or get some cheesecake, then you could potentially steal the opponent’s hatches from the player station.
