For Sale: 2x MarkForged Onyx One

As title says, I have 2 brand new (box has only been opened to verify contents) MarkForged Onyx One printers (NOT the continuous fiber printer) that I am selling.

Link to product page: https://markforged.com/product/f-pr-4011/

Price: $4000 ea or best offer - this is $500 off the retail price of $4500. Keep in mind that MarkForged does NOT offer any educational discounts on the Onyx One printer itself, so this will likely be the cheapest legitimate listing you will see. I’m open to all offers, so please DM me if you are interested.

Local pick is STRONGLY preferred, I am located in San Diego.

Each printer comes with 1x Onyx One printer, 1x Dry box, 1x Onyx filament, and all the accessories that come with the printer (glue stick, paint scraper, etc).

Why are you selling, out of curiosity?

Bought three, one for the team and two to sell since price got hiked up after the New Year :slightly_smiling_face:

Did you buy these at the lower price?

Why would I buy them for $4500 and then sell for less then that

Just clarifying.

I appreciate the hustle, but I think you’ll find most of the community put off by your attempt at FRC arbitrage.

Pretty sure Hawk Ridge Systems offers 10% off MF printers

Unfortunately this is not the case anymore, when we contacted them to buy they said there was no FRC/Educational discount on the Onyx One, but there is indeed a discount on the higher end Onyx Pro and Mark Two models. Markforged, however, still offers a 50% off discount on the Onyx Filament (whose price has remained unchanged).

Their list price is still $3,499 YMMV.

What was the price before the price hike on new year?

Changing to match the new price soon :slightly_smiling_face:, the first thing that all the resellers told us when we called them to inquire about the printers was that all the desktop printer prices were going to increase by 40-50% after the New Year since “Markforged believed they were priced too low”. The Mark Two is at a mind boggling 20k now :exploding_head:.

$3500.

How does one get this discount on Onyx? Like if one were not connected to FRC, would it be possible?

Not sure, we applied through their sponsorship program which was open to FSAE and FRC teams which gave us up to 10 spools per year at half off, but it looks like that part of the website has since been taken down… https://markforged.com/sponsorship/. Seems to be pretty recent since the link is still active at the bottom of this page: https://markforged.com/education/

From my experience, I purchase our material only at the discount if it is done through our team account, as it is a discount you have to apply for.
