Founders in FIRST on FUN

FIRST produces tons of entrepreneurs and founders, and has even more attracted to the program as mentors. I’m excited to be able to introduce a few of them through a collaboration with @Tyler_Olds and FUN! The show will feature a panel of FIRST alumni/mentors that have either started a side gig, or a full fledged company.

The show will take place on Wednesday, February 10th at 8PM EST on FUN!

We will be relating our real world entrepreneurial experiences back to the Innovation Challenge, and offering advice that will be useful for teams participating in the challenge. The content in this show will also be valuable showing students that the skills they’re learning in FIRST are directly applicable to real world opportunities.

Our panelists will include:

Tyler Olds (FUN)
@Ryan_Dognaux (1720)
Trent Callan (1746/971)
@JamesCH95 James Cole-Henry (95)
@scottkdavis Scott Davis (2052)
Ryan Swanson (4607)
@ShelbyA Shelby Anderson (1619)

If you have any questions for anybody on the panel about their entrepreneurial experiences, or any questions related to the Innovation Challenge please post them in this thread and we’ll attempt to answer them on the show!

From an entrepreneur point of view, how does @tcallan feel about the renting market in the different places he’s lived, and how has that influenced his thoughts on landlords?

Just to clarify real quick- my day job is with Auris Health/Johnson & Johnson, which is linked here since a lot of what I do is directly related to the innovation challenge.

I also helped to create Hayes Health, which is a pre-revenue project that we just went through this exact process with and I’ll also reference in the discussion!

Will this be archived on the FUN YouTube channel? I have a scheduling conflict.

@Tyler_Olds can confirm but I would expect it to be!

@waialua359 that’s super cool to hear! I’m honestly really excited to hear everybody’s answers to the questions we have lined up. Hopefully if this goes well we can do more of them with other founders/entrepreneurs in FIRST!

The show was a blast! Thanks to @Tyler_Olds for hosting and @tcallan @Ryan_Dognaux @ShelbyA @JamesCH95 @scottkdavis for being on the panel. Learning about everybody’s companies was really cool.

One of my big takeaways is that I need to buy a new webcam… the potato cam on my laptop didn’t seem to cut it this time.
