FRC 1540 & JuiceBox. We need your help

Our FRC team 1540, the Flaming Chickens and InvenTeam have been working on a solar light and power solution for the previously houseless population in our community. This low cost, renewable system is called “JuiceBox.” It uses repurposed FRC batteries that may be a little off their game for competition but are perfectly fine for this application.

We won one of the $10K finalists awards in the Lexus EcoChallenge this year (our car pooling application, Lost Exhaust won this last year.) We used this money, and other donations, to build 30 JuiceBoxes which are being installed on off-the-grid tiny houses for this population. After winning the first round, JuiceBox is competing with 16 other High school finalists in the finalist round. This is the most impactful project we’ve done.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN
One of the things that Lexus EcoChallenge judges look for is exposure. It’s all well and good for these teams to do cool things but it’s important that others know about them. With our application due March 6th, now is when we need your help. How?

We got some great exposure on our local NBC affiliate KGW last night. See that segment at http://www.kgw.com/news/local/low-cost-solar-powered-battery-for-homeless/415036603

We still need your views and shares of the YouTube video in the first post as well as visits to the website www.catlinnvents.org/juicebox.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Great video and keep up the great work throughout the community!
