For the 2nd year 1806 is proud to be part of The Open Alliance!
Going to keep the into post short and add our code and CAD links here
Non-robot update
Our cart is still a work in progress, but we now have the control system mostly done and just waiting for the cart to get back from being powder coated to reassemble and test it.
Code for the cart is here
Oh yeah, before I forget, we probably won’t use any of this this year but for a while I was looking into making a PCB to allow for keyboard switches to be used as limit switches, I made the following circuit board design that allows switches to be daisy chained in serial or parallel (just put a jumper across the 2 serial pins at the end of any branch)
And some 3D Printable “keycaps” that might be more applicable to robotics.
We’ve been snowed in for most of this week, we have some prototypes in onshape and we made a prototype coral claw with giant 8" “”“compliant”“” wheels that had no grip on the coral, we’re making a version 2 of that using smaller, grippier wheels.
I’m wanting to grippify some HTD belt for coral and it definitely is slick. Not sure how to get a good printable material, thinking about brush on grip material.
You might try belt dressing. It’s supposed to stop your serpentine belt from squeaking, which I’ve heard it isn’t great at, but it sure made our compliant wheels grippier last year on the note without leaving residue. Don’t spray it directly on the belts/wheels, just spray it in a shop towel and then wipe the wheels/belts down. We were doing that after every match on our intake and launch wheels last year.
