FRC 2017-2018 Java Code Failing to Deploy/Failing to Connect

Hi everyone!

We are experiencing some issues with getting our robot running.
Specifically, every time we build the code, we either cannot build the code/deploy it, or we are unable to connect to our robot through FRC Driver Station (on Mac or Windows).

This is some of the default tank drive code that we’re trying to run:

Looks like you have a password on the admin account on your roboRIO. You need to remove it.

The issue is the filesystem on your roborio is full (“write error: No space left on device”). You probably copied something you didn’t intend to to /home/lvuser (you can log in via either ssh or use Windows Explorer to ftp://roborio-TEAM-frc.local/home/lvuser to try to figure out what’s eating all the space).

If you can get in over ssh, the command

du -h -d 1

can help you determine which folder uses so much space.

We looked at the admin accounts on the roboRIO - the admin account password is blank.

Additionally, the link that you provided (ftp://roborio-TEAM-frc.local/home/lvuser) doesn’t link to a loadable webpage.

How can we SSH in to the roboRIO? The IP address that we tried (the one that shows up as belonging to the roboRIO) - on a Macbook Pro - doesn’t work; it can’t find that connection.

Did you make sure to replace TEAM with your team # and you were connected to the rio when you tried it?

I would just re-image the roboRio. Takes a few minutes to get done.

Also, be careful with your imports of other libraries. The first import line you have says:

import edu.wpi.first.wpilibj.*;

You are literally importing everything in that folder. Try to only import what you use, in this case it looks like the Talon class.

That’s because it’s not a webpage - it’s an ftp server. Connect to your RIO, open windows explorer, and enter that address into the top bar, replacing TEAM with your team number (so for you it’d probably be ftp://roborio-5212-frc.local/home/lvuser), and it will take you to the folder on the RoboRIO.

As several people have posted above, the easiest solution would be to reimage the RIO.
