Hello! Welcome to the 2643 Dark Matter Build Thread. Thank you to openalliance and hoping to have a great season once again. We look forward to sharing our progress!
2643 Dark Matter is based in San Jose, California. It will be our team’s 18th season and we are excited to show how much our team has grown, especially in the last three years.
Off-Season
In the off-season, our team focused on building the new member knowledge base and a few small projects. We had new members build mini racecars, gave Ralph (our robot cart) a makeover and worked on swerve skills.
Most importantly, we hosted our first 24 team FLL Qualifier event in November! It was great to see so many FLL teams join us for the weekend.
Kickoff Update:
Crescendo is here! We’re excited for this year’s game, it looks to be an interesting game with various options for how we could build our bot.
We held kickoff in our school multipurpose room, and brought together our team and alumni from years past. After watching the broadcast, we spent some time analyzing our first thoughts of the game and then went over the game manual by splitting into groups and making presentations on sections. With the knowledge fresh on our mind, we brainstormed the first ideas for how we could score points and potential game strategies.
We look forward to competing with everyone in the 2024 season :))
