This offseason, our team decided to have panels cut for prototype drivebases, which will mirror what our drivetrain will probably look like in this upcoming season. Below is an example of a CAD model:
We designed two different panels, and both account for a wide number of wheel configurations. The gearbox can be mounted to either direct drive the center wheel or offset drive through an extra pulley stage. We chose to use aluminum extrusion as a sturdy connector through the middle and Andymark churro to hold the outer panels, as both can easily be cut to any desirable length for quick prototyping.
