This is our first year using swerve drives (SDS mk4s) and the first time we have fully completed our CAD file before building our robot. Not everything is perfect due to design changes with our shooter before states. We changed our shooter from a side-to-side shooter to an over-under shooter.
We used mostly 1/4-20 bolts with tapped ends in the 1/8" aluminum extrusion to secure our parts together. We are especially proud of our Rack and Pinion gear drive design, which lifts our arm (shooter) instead of chain and sprocket. We chose this so that way we can apply linear force to the arm, and keep the mechanism inside the robot to make things more compact (Allowing the arm pivot point to be closer to the edge of the frame)
