FRC Article on Forbes

Forbes recently published an article about FIRST in Michigan, heavily featuring Team 33, The Killer Bees, and mentor Jim Zondag. It’s an interesting read, and the link is below.

It’s encouraging to see articles like this be published, not only for the exposure to the public but also because it’s cool to see that this program and its people are indeed changing the culture. Great job to 33 on representing the FRC so well, and keep up the good work!

I agree, good article. But:

2006 had only 1 FRC team (857), but 2007 had 2 (857+2153), and 2008 had 3 (857+2153+2586).

PS. And that doesn’t even touch the FLL teams up here, but I’ll forgive them that.

From my experience, every article about FIRST has some small inaccuracies in it. Reporters only do so well when they talk to us

And especially when we don’t have TBA in front of us when talking with them…

We should start giving that out as a reference.

Pro tip: these sorts of articles on Forbes are more like blog entries than edited articles. Don’t expect them to have the same editing effort than a print article.
