Yup. However I was pleasantly surprised with the spread - seems ike a lot of first time award winners (of this type), the usual suspects, and also a lot of rookies!

Perhaps it might be better to look at the awards won over the past, say, 5 years. Teams evolve and awards won 10 years ago might not be reflective of the team now.
I agree completely! I’ll take a look and see if there’s anything different or interesting with the change.

A PSA for the semi-finalist teams.
As noted in a FRC discord post, there are nuanced details for the additional requirements that are not in the manual but are spelled out on the submission portal.
If you did not get the semi-finalist information email yet, we haven’t, you can still get to the semi-finalist submission portal via the method used for the initial submission with a few minor hoops to jump through.

Well, I can say that our team (172 Northern Force) has been playing for 25 years and have never won an event, a Chairman’s award (at any level) or an Entrepreneurship award. I agree that perennially successful teams have built programs around the submitted awards, and that there should be an expectation these teams would perform well here. We are happy to be recognized at this level, and look forward to seeing the finalist announcement this week.
