Today’s guest blog is by Mark Critz, Project Manager in the FIRST® Strategic Sourcing Department.

For teams who have purchased e-watt saver LED light bulbs, you may recognize my name as the e-watt Project Manager for the past 4 years. I still manage the e-watt fundraising program and now work in the newly re-named Strategic Sourcing department. Lately I’ve also been working on projects for FRC® and FTC® for the upcoming seasons.

The e-watt saver program is now almost 4 years old. Google generously provided a Grant to allow teams to purchase bulbs at a deeply discounted price. Teams have sold nearly 170,000 e-watt bulbs and earned an estimated $1.8 Mil. to meet team fundraising goals. With 45,000 US produced Cree LED light bulbs shipped so far this season, we are on our way to a record year for the e-watt program.

A few weeks ago, we introduced a new 1600 lumen / 100W replacement bulb for teams to sell. It draws only 18 watts, 82% more efficient than a conventional incandescent bulb. The new bulb has features you have come to expect such as being omnidirectional, fully dimmable, Mercury free, 2700 Kelvin Soft White color temperature and a 10 year warranty.

We continue to offer the 800 lumen / 60W replacement bulb. The 800 lumen e-watt saver uses only 9.5 watts making it 84% more efficient than a conventional 60W incandescent bulb. We have plenty of inventory on hand of both bulbs to support your fund raising efforts this fall and the upcoming Holiday season. Now, your customers will have a choice in lighting.

From now until Wednesday November 26th, we are offering a Fall Bundle Promotion. When you order a special SKU with 1 case of forty 800 lumen bulbs and 1 case of twenty 1,600 lumen bulbs you will receive $60 off your order.
