Here’s your chance to help us improve your experience with the *FIRST *Robotics Competition Kit of Parts! The Kit of Parts survey is open now, and will be available until Friday, July 21. We ask that no more than one student and one mentor from each team complete the survey, so teams choosing to respond will be more fairly represented. Tell us what you think, so we can get better!
To encourage even more teams to participate, we are offering 10 great prizes to 10 lucky winners! Each winner will receive ONE of the following prizes:
Level One Prizes (3 Lucky respondents who complete EVERY question of the first part of the survey will win ONE of the following):
2 Spark Motor Controllers
1 Box of FIRST STEAMWORKS Fuel
1 roll of VHB Tape
Level Two Prizes (7 Lucky respondents who complete EVERY question of the entire survey will win ONE of the following):
1 RoboRio
1 PDP
1 Kinect
5 FIRST STEAMWORKS Gears
1 Netbook
Given how much AndyMark has been trying to get rid of fuel lately, I’m surprised FIRST didn’t help them out and offer a box to everyone that participated
All fuelishness aside, I think it’s a great way to thank people for their opinion.
OBTW, as hinted in the blog post, the survey has a question around 52% or so where it lets you quit without answering a “round 2” of questions, so don’t despair if you realize that progress bar hasn’t moved along as fast as you’d hoped. I kept going, of course! Round 2 basically is how useful/good you felt each individual item was (with “did not use” as an option), presented in bunches of about 10-30 items.
If you have all the power distribution you need, you obviously need more power!
We have four sets of the control system core components, and our team of 20 students used them all during build season – prototyping/improvements 'bot, competition 'bot, practice 'bot, and programmer’s test platform. If we had five, I’m pretty sure that last one wouldn’t stay on last year’s robot or the air cannon through build season. If given a choice, I’d probably pick a 5th RoboRIO, with a 5th PDP being second choice.
