New Chief Volunteer

Written by Frank Merrick, 2017 FEB 27.

I am very pleased to announce that Paul George has been offered, and has accepted, the new position of Chief Field Supervisor!

Paul has been volunteering for FIRST for 23 years. He started as a mentor on a team in Cincinnati, and eventually moved on to other roles, including Head Referee and FTA. He has been in attendance - almost always as a volunteer - at every Championship since our first one in 1995. Also, he is a current mentor for FRC Team 1038, Lakota Robotics, from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

This new position really formalizes what Paul has been doing for us already for several years – training our Field Supervisors and being our ‘go to’ volunteer for things such as the field reset process.

Unsurprisingly, with all he does for us, Paul was recognized as the FIRST Robotics Competition Volunteer of the Year in 2015.

Congratulations, Paul, on this long-overdue recognition!

An excellent choice!

The only choice

Awesome news! He’s a great fella!

Congrats Paul! One of the hardest working volunteers in FIRST.

My mentor!
