“Touch it, own it” of course
Frank said in FIRST TV two weeks ago that the GDC is working right now on the 2019 game and also on the 2020 game. Only a short time before Kickoff will the GDC work fully on the 2019 game. However, I still do agree with your opinion.
Frank gave the reason for the deadline in the blog comments.
Hey Tom, sorry about those deadlines! They are driven by our schedules here at HQ. We need the planet named before we can finish the teaser, which we hope to release in early September, and selecting the name out of the many suggestions we are receiving will be a process in itself. Same challenge with game concept submissions. We have a two-day workshop scheduled the week of August 20th to review those concepts so we need them submitted the week before. I would have liked to have given more time on concept submissions, but honestly, I didn’t think of this until later than I should have.
What I really need to do is find that post I made for FIRST QUidditch ad submit that.
WHOOMP! THERE IT IS!
And the next year’s game saw robots flying over moats. Koko Ed is my clairvoyant homeboy.
Done.
Submitted my game pitch. Y’all better do the same!
I submitted “bag bugaboo” - basic premise is that teams build robots but then keep the robots in the bags for all of the competition. If you thought having a deadline was inspirational and realistic then watching robots in bags is gonna be totes amazeballs! Think of the inspiration! So much inspiration! Added excitement comes from human players throwing pool noodles onto the field to see who can score the most points. #noodleAgreement #BDIBS
I’m curious how FRC baseball is going to work out.
Then the next year “Bag Bugaboo 2: Electric Boogaloo”
Well you were talking about “pitch” so I assumed baseball since soccer has already been done.
Could be cricket. Would we need to know the sport rules to understand the FRC game rules?
Not really, but the main thing to know about cricket is that single games can last two or three days, depending on the type of game.
The other main thing to know is that it involves throwing/bowling a ball at a target, and trying to hit that ball that is aiming for the target if it is bowled, and running like crazy if the ball is actually hit.
It’ll be interesting when the team update requiring FTC matches that go long add additional bots to the field comes out.
Was this the best meme to present after asking students to develop concepts for new game ideas?
How many firing monkeys out of… suggestions might result? Over and under 30?
